South Manchester starts MJSL season in style

There were goals galore in the opening round of JC MJSL matches on Tuesday night.

South Manchester Sports Club 2nd bounced back from their defeat in the MJSL JC North Charity Shield with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Republic of Mancunia.

A hat-trick from Toby Levy plus two from Ben Polak and Mike Stratton got them off to a flyer.

Josh Hayes fired a treble as Manchester Maccabi 3rd thumped Crumpsall 5-0. Harry Myers and Lee Simons completed the rout.

Strikes from Jay Rosenthal, Alex Winston and Brett Howart earned Westdene 1st a 3-0 victory in the derby at Westdene 2nd.

There are four matches scheduled on Sunday. Maccabi 3rd entertain defending champions Haroldeans. Title hopefuls Republic host Crumpsall, South take on Westdene 2nd while Westdene 1st travel to Sporting JLGB.
