South Manchester Sports started the season in some style, running in six against a Saints team that could not cope with the variation and movement of the South attack.

The return of Harvey Kaye and Toby Levy from their year abroad plus the deadline day signing of Adam Lavin from Manchester Maccabi brings a complete set of attacking options for manager Darryl Lee.

Levy raced clear to put South ahead after 15 minutes and they did not look back.

Further strikes from David Chaytow, Tom Cantor, Ben Peppi, summer signing Adam Lavin and Levy, again, clinched the points.

South manager Darryl Lee said: "All in all this was a good performance but there is plenty of room for improvement.

"We play reigning champions Miam Miam on Sunday in what will be a far better measure of our abilities."
