South in seventh heaven

Adam Lavin’s treble inspired South Manchester to a sixth successive league victory.

The in-form hitman took his tally to 19 for the season as South cruised past third-place Iraq FC.

Lavin fired the hosts ahead from the penalty spot early on, before Michael Sparkes added a second inside the first five minutes.

Iraq reduced the deficit before the break and Mike Stratton made several key blocks to keep South’s lead intact going into the interval.

But Lavin’s double and further strikes from Mark Addis and Adam Jackson ensured South claimed the points.

South take on Lawds next Sunday.
