Grays midfielder Sam Sloma had his goal celebrations cut short in a first round replay when a floodlight failure forced the match to be abandoned.

Sloma, 26, opened the scoring against Carlisle United after 20 minutes but then the lights at the New Rec ground failed. "It was a very strange feeling," he said. "The FA history books will probably chalk the goal off but I'm still going to count it."

With the winner facing a home tie against Crewe Alexandra in round two, Sloma said: "That would be a good game for us as they're bottom of their division, but we must beat Carlisle first. I don't know if our chance has gone as we're playing well." The tie will be played again on November 29.

St. Albans City striker Paul Hakim, who like Sloma is in the provisional 23-man Team GB Maccabiah Games squad, maintained his good goal-scoring form with a brace in the 4-1 win over Fisher Athletic in the Conference South. He has scored five in his last three games.
