Slater ready to conquer the north

articlemain

The latest JC MSFL North versus East match is scheduled to take place in May next year, to raise funds for cancer research.

Chigwell Athletic boss Richard Slater will manage the East XI, with Glenthorne United B joint-manager Sam Rosenthal his No. 2. Russell Brill will be player-coach of the team.

North West Neasden joint-manager Darren Yarlett will spearhead the MSFL North team.

Conference League official Richard Jaye has agreed to ref the game, with a venue to be confirmed.

Slater told JC Sport: "I have wanted to organise another game for a while now, but just never got around to it.

"2004 is a long time to wait for revenge since the North pipped us 5-4!

"Cancer Research is a charity close to my heart so it's a great way to try and raise some money for them.

"It should be a great game."

Yarlett told JC Sport: "I am absolutely honoured that Richard Slater has asked me to be involved in managing the North London squad for such an event.

"It is great that the boys can put away their competitiveness for a week and play for such a great charity.

"I have Selected Lee Cash as player-coach, along with Brady's Josh Rosenfeld to assist me in the dugout, and will be looking to win this game as we did last time out."

The JC looks forward to covering what should be a thrilling contest.
