Sam McCarthy, manager of Redbridge Jewish Care A, cut a relieved figure after watching his team keep alive treble hopes with a hard fought victory against Division One high-flyers Brady Maccabi in the quarter-finals of the JC Cyril Anekstein Cup.
They ran out 6-1 winners but the tie was far from comfortable for RJC who finished the game with 10 men after right-back Craig Sandford was sent off. It needed some late intervention from hat-trick hero Dean Nyman, Steve Summers and Daran Bern to send the Premier Division leaders through.
McCarthy said: "We dominated the second half and played some excellent football. Our pace up front proved too much for Brady and it was only a matter time before the floodgates opened."
Brady manager Josh Rosenfield said: "We have set our sights on promotion and playing teams like RJC week in, week out. We would've given them a better game with a full-strength side out."
Redbridge were joined in the last four by Hendon United Sports Club A. First half headers from Ari Last and Josh Bentley took them past Premier Division rivals Faithfold A. 2-1. Benji Dymant replied.
A depleted North West Neasden A beat London Maccabi Lions A 3-2 at Rowley Lane. Lee Cash (2) and Ben Ellis were the marksmen. Pete Lazard and Ben Joseph replied.
Strikes from Craig Phillips and Ben Murrell helped Southgate Harmen A reach the last 16 of the Peter Morrison Trophy as they overcame first division Montana Boca United A. Harmen old boy James Sandler replied.
Chigwell Athletic climbed into second place in JC MSFL Division One following a 3-2 victory over FC Team A. Two penalties from Glenn Michaels plus a late wonder goal from Daniel Castle settled it. Danny Moss and new signing Shai Davidi struck for FC Team.
Oakwood boosted their promotion hopes with a 2-1 win at Camden Park. Ian Tussie and Daniel Geey were the scorers. Sam Bennett replied.
Ben Sollosi (2), Daniel Orgel (2), Jamie Cooper and Josh Barnett earned Redbridge B a 6-0 success over Southgate Harmen B.
Temple Fortune A edged four points clear in Division Two following a 6-0 demolition of FC Marylebone. Rob Benson (2), Ben Isaacs (2), Scott Shindler and Michael Goldberg were the marksmen.
Brixton Old Boys proved too good for L'Equipe with Danny Sherman (2), Alon Hershkorn and James Kaye doing the damage in a 4-0 win.
Former leaders Norstar A were edged out 3-2 by Woodford Wanderers for whom Darryl Green, Harrison Midda and Mitch Hahn found the net. Norstar's goals came through Phil Peters and David Shamash.
Chaim Gothold (2), Raph Noe, Alex Neiss and Yoav Kestenbaum helped Hendon B overcome FC Team B 5-3. David Silver scored a hat-trick for Team.
Faithfold C's promotion hopes received a blow as they drew 3-3 with Norstar B. Josh Sugarbread, Ben Simons and Jonny Blain struck for Faithfold with Norstar replying through Adam Seres, Adam Sandzer and an own goal.
Redbridge C maintained their title hopes with Dan Gordon, Hadley Silver, James Ryan and Jamie Chapman on target in a 4-0 victory at UJIA.
Real Life halted Heath Banta's promotion charge with Dan Markeson and Charlie Bernstein registering in a 2-2 draw. Oli Joseph and Josh Shindler replied. Goals from Neil Marcus, Jonny Winton and Byron Watkins kept Zig Zag out of the relegation zone as they beat Team JLGB 3-1.
