Silver lining for Newman

articlemain

Josh Newman finished second at the Brentwood Open.

Competing against older boys, he retained the GC Junior form shield after seeing off the challenge of 278 rivals in his first outing since suffering a broken ankle.

Newman has now returned to full training and is looking forward to the start of the new national season which begins in late January, just after his barmitzvah.

He has retained his place in the national squad for next season despite his injury problems.
