Silver lining for Barnett

Anna Barnett, 13, of Blackheath and Bromley AC, placed second in the hammer throw and third in the discus, with distances of 23.98m and 17.58m respectively, at the under-15 Kent County Championships.

Shaftesbury Barnet Harrier Jessica Hurley, 12, recorded a personal best of 2:33.31 in placing second in the 800m at the under-13 Hertfordshire County Championships.

Zoe Gibson, of Trafford AC, contested three events in the Young Athletes League Northern Division at Cleckheaton, placing first in the discus, second in the hammer, and third in the shot.

Ben Lewis, 19, a freshman at Jesus College Cambridge, earned his Blue in the triple jump at the Oxford versus Cambridge Varsity Sports in Oxford, placing third with 12.62m.

David Peters, 40, opened his outdoor track season with an 800m win in New York. His time of 2:00.86 places him fourth in the UK M40 rankings.
