articlemain

Scott Shulton is on the verge of signing a one-year contract with League Two promotion hopefuls Wycombe Wanderers.

“This is something I have been working towards for a long time,” said the central midfielder. “To get the contract is amazing. My next challenge is to break into the first team set-up as soon as possible.”

The 18-year-old from Mill Hill, North West London, who has been with the club from the age of 11, is looking forward to linking up with former Scotland, Celtic and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Paul Lambert, the Wycombe manager.

“To be coached and learning off someone as high profile as Paul Lambert, who has had experience at international and Champions League level, is very good for me,” he said. A level-two coach who used to train Kenton Maccabi Under 16s, he attends Stoke Newington Synagogue and was on loan at Isthmian League Premier Division Hendon in January.
