Shock win for Highgate and Muswell Hill

Highgate & Muswell Hill Under 18 were top of the shocks after they dumped Premier Division London Maccabi Lions B out of the Peter Morrison Trophy with a 3-2 victory at Rowley Lane.

Avishai Kestenbaum (2) plus one from Josh Hirschowitz set up a second round clash against North West Neasden B for the youngest team in the competition. Jonathan Green bagged a brace for the Lions but it was not enough to stop the Watford Friendly League outfit.

“The boys were fantastic, out of this world,” said HMH manager Malcolm Laster. “We played very well and, if anything, I believe the scoreline flattered the Lions. I probably won’t get another performance like that out of them for a long time.”

The weekend’s other shock saw Division Four new boys UJS Norstar B overcome Zig Zag thanks to a strike from Maurice Franks.

Brady Maccabi beat Holy Mount Zion 4-1 with Joel Lassman, Gideon Sidy, Josh Gordon and Lee Platt on target.

A four-goal salvo from Daryl Phillips eased Faithfold A to an 8-0 demolition of Southgate Harmen B. Mickey Fields (2), James Taylor and Daniel Howard completed the route.

Mike Pearson (3), Lee Bibring, Louis Basger, Ricky Kennet and an own goal helped London Maccabi Lions A to a 6-0 victory over UJS Norstar A.

Saul Conway (2), Dovid Korman, Yishai Last, Avidan Last and Ari Last eased Hendon A to a 6-0 success over Red
    Sea.

Keeper Daniel Cohen saved Montana A’s blushes, saving a penalty as the team edged past third division L’Equipe.

The sides were deadlocked at 3-3 after extra time. Simon Wax, Jason Wood and Simon Peterman found the net for Montana, while Paul Rubenstein, David Prager and Matt Gilbery did the same for L’Equipe. Adam Newman, Simon Wax, Marc Ziedman and Tommy Miller converted from the spot as Montana progressed.

Steve Faye, Daniel Gordon, Josh Cohen and substitute Jamie Taylor inspired Redbridge B to a 4-2 win over North London Raiders A.

Temple Fortune completed a cup double over Redbridge C with Rob Benson, Rob Cooper and an own goal setting up a 3-1.win.

Shai Davidi (3), Jamie Kent (2), Elliot Stern, Paul Babai, Alon Hershkorn, John Haik and Rob Hershkorn eased 10-man South Manx to a 10-2 victory over North London Raiders Masters.

Hendon United B moved into the third round of the London FA Sunday Intermediate Cup after beating Koture FC on penalties. The teams were locked at 2-2 after extra time. Avidan Last and Alex Neiss netted in open play.

Darran Bern (2), Sam Van Gelder, Steve Summers and Adam Hakimi struck as Redbridge A beat Lucia 5-4 in the County Cup. Dave Marcus (4), Doron Hershkorn and Dan Stock earned Faithfold B a 6-2 win over Rapid Banta in JC MSFL Division Two.
