Season 2013/14 preview: NW Neasden

articlemain

Neasden were in danger of folding altogether after the collapse of the B team, but three men stepped up to the plate to ensure the proud club name and brand is maintained in the MSFL.

Competitions entered: We are playing our season in MSFL Division 1 and are competing in the Peter Morrison and Cyril Anekstein Cup

New signings: This season has been fueled with intense transfer activity and this summer has been utilised very well. We have had to start from scratch as collectively with Josh Tiano and Steven Murad and Andrew Goldman. We have had to build a whole new squad. Every player on our books is a new signing

Which of the new signings excites you most? Dan’Dave’ Orgel excites me the most as his passion engages him to fight for the cause and he has a real hunger to be the league’s top-scorer. Second best is never good enough for him

Have any players left? As we have saved the club from folding, all but one of last years players have left and we have refreshed with squad with our own stamp

Hopes for the season: It is imperative we look for promotion, first time of asking. As we all know, Division One is a notoriously difficult league to get out of as competition is rife. I believe the squad is in good shape to be ambitious and look to end the season as champions of Division One

Ones to watch: We have a hugely impressive attacking line up in our squad with Shai Davidi creating chances with his skills and Kane Gilbery with his tenacity. And a real coup for us was to sign Scott Kay, he will prove to be a real rock for us.

Which team do you consider your strongest challengers? It is a difficult question to answer as this league is so tough. Our first game of the season against an experienced Brixton Old Boys will prove to be hard opposition and I believe they will take some beating this year

Captain: Our captain is a very level-headed James Lee. He is a perfectionist and once again will not let second best be good enough. He is a perfect role model for our squad to learn off

Sponsor: Moerans Solicitors based in Edgware.

Homeground: Hadley FC, Brickfield Lane, Arkley, Hertfordshire EN5 3LD

What will your team bring to the league this season? Our team will bring a lot of passion to every game they play in, with a never-say-die attitude instilling the belief that they can win every game they participate in
