Season 2013/14 preview: Hendon Utd SC C

articlemain

It's all change at Hendon United Sports Club C, with Adam Glekin taking over the reins. Hustlers fans will be delighted to hear they have kept hold of star striker Alex Elf, despite some big offers from clubs in the higher divisions.

Which competitions have you entered this season? We are in Division 3 as well as the two cups as per usual, but our main focus will be on the league

Have you made any new signings? We have been very active over the summer. We have brought in a number of new players, though I am keeping a few names close to my chest as they have not quite completed their transfers yet!

Which of the signings excites you most? I don't like to single any individuals out, but Glen Turner will add some much needed steel to our defence, and I think Ezra Dulberg will cause a lot of problems for the defenders in our league

Have any players left?
Craig Phillips will be a big loss, and Benni Sluckis has also left us. But I was particularly delighted to secure the services for another year of Yaacov Goldin and Alex Elf who had been touted for moves to bigger clubs. We have also kept hold of other important members of our squad, so I am feeling confident

What are your hopes for the season? This is a tricky question, as it's hard to predict how strong some of the new teams in the division will be. But I'd be disappointed with anything less than a top three finish, and I am quietly confident we can put up a challenge for the title

Which players would you describe as the 'ones to watch' and why? Alex Elf will most probably grab the headlines once more, but I think we will be a lot stronger as a team this year

Which team/s do you consider your strongest challengers? Having dropped down two divisions, Temple Fortune ought to be up there. Having faced them twice in the last few months (albeit with a depleted squad), I think Loughton Orient could be a surprise package, they've looked impressive

Captain: TBC. We have been experimenting with various options in friendlies

Team sponsor: Kisharon

Home ground: The luxurious and luscious green grass of West Hendon Playing Fields

What will your team bring to the league this season? I am looking for us to play a more attractive brand of football next season. I'd like to think we will play the game in the right manner, competitive but fair
