Season 2012/13 preview: Chigwell Athletic

articlemain

Chigwell Athletic manager Richard Slater believes that the acquisition of Richard Baum, Dean Ben-Yosef, Brad Gayer and Pierce Prince can turn his team into an irresistible force as they look to finally break into the Premier Division after a four-year absence.

Having flirted with promotion in Division One for the past few seasons, Slater has been working hard in pre-season, with Director of Football Mickey Hazard putting the squad through their paces on the training ground.

“We’ll go out to have fun and enjoy our football,” said Slater. “We’ll take one game at a time and see where that takes us.”

Daniel Castle will captain Chigwell for his 10th year out of 12 with the club and Slater is tipping new boys Baum and Gayer to take the division by storm. “Both played at a professional level, and both have magic wands on their left foot,” he said.
