Season 2012/13 preview: Brady Maccabi A

articlemain

Joel Nathan is looking to roll back the years and steer Brady Maccabi A to success in his first year back as manager.

Under Nathan, Brady last won the MSFL title in season 2000/01 and he is confident of carrying on the good work of former boss Josh Rosenfeld.

“We’re looking to build on last season and hope to push for the title and again have excellent cup runs,” said a confident Nathan, who led Team GB Juniors to football glory at the 2011 European Maccabi Games.

He sees defending champions Hendon, Lions, Oakwood and Faithfold as “the biggest threats,” but with several new faces coming in, Nathan believes his troops can mix it with the best.

“We have signed Bradley Sharp, Mark Lazare, Rob Lerner and Ben Joseph from Neasden, with a couple more surprises still to come,” he said. “We have also secured the services of one of the best young Jewish footballers around in Jordan Nathan, who will be playing full time for Brady this season after being voted London Lions Young Player of the Season last season. All of the above combined with the existing squad will hopefully propel Brady back to the top.”

The new signings bolster a talented squad that is led by captain Jonny Ellis. “For me,” Nathan said, “Josh Hershman is still for me the best left-sided player in the league, it will be interesting to see how Jordan Nathan settles into the league.”
