Salford Blue Jays well beaten

articlemain

Salford Blue Jays succumbed to a free-scoring West Didsbury in their second match of the season.

West Didsbury won the toss and, having chosen to bat, proceeded to pile on the runs as Salford toiled in the field. Whilst the Salford players' heads never went down, all the bowlers bore the brunt of an onslaught that ended at 290-6.

Salford tried to chase the score down, but a number of injudicious shots saw wickets tumble. From 43-4, Jonny Wineberg and Josh Dansky added 40 for the fifth wicket, but with the loss of Dansky for 12, the resistance was short lived.

Wineberg suffered a run out for 37 and the Salford innings ended on 124 all out. West Didsbury claimed 33 points, with Salford Blue Jays CC recording seven points.
