Ben Sahar has resigned himself to playing in the Championship.

The Israeli marksman has suffered a stop-start career since joining Chelsea in 2006. Last season he was loaned to QPR and Sheffield Wednesday and after joining Portsmouth on a six-month loan deal in July, he has been kicking his heels in the reserves.

Last week the club announced that they would return him to Chelsea in January and that he is more suited to the Championship. "I had not been thinking at all about the option of playing in the Championship," said Sahar. "But I want to play and that's the important thing, so I hope to go to a place where I can make an impact."

It remains unclear whether the Israeli army will allow the 19-year-old to play anything less than Premiership football. Sahar enlisted in the IDF last month and received a deferral within the framework of the army's "prodigious sportsmen" programme. However, there are doubts that his deferral will be valid by dropping a division.

As reported earlier, Sahar's cause will not be helped by his recent split with agent Pini Zahavi after his mother, Batya, made statements criticising the way her son's career was being handled.
Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has confirmed an interest in signing the forward who has also been linked with QPR and Watford, where former Chelsea reserve team coach Brendan Rodgers has just been appointed. Rodgers played a key role in helping to fast-track Sahar into the first team squad at Stamford Bridge.

Barnet's Israeli keeper Ran Kadoch, 23, has been made available for loan due to limited first-team opportunities. He was injured 30 minutes into his debut against Dagenham & Redbridge in September and has not played since.
