Rover and out for Jacobson

articlemain

Bristol Rovers and Wales left-back Joe Jacobson faces a race against time to get fit for the new season after picking up an injury.

Jacobson, who had scored in back-to-back friendlies, suffered medial knee ligament damage against IF Limhamn Bunkeflo 2007 during the club's Scandanavian tour.

Rovers boss Paul Trollope said: "Joe cleared a ball forward and their player came in late. While his ankle is fine, the challenge opened up his knee and we think there may be some damage to his ligament. He may need a scan, and we will monitor the situation next week.

"He's been in fantastic form over the last few games and we hope the injury isn't too serious."
