Richards-Gray sets two new PBs

Oxford City AC sprinter Adam Richards-Gray recorded a 100m season’s best of 12.75 at the Southern Counties masters championships, held this year in his home county, at Abingdon.

Richards-Gray also set a wind-assisted V40 personal best of 26.03, both performances earning him the silver medal.

Roger Bruck described his own results in Abingdon as “encouraging rather than startling”. In his first competition since recovering from a pulled hamstring suffered towards the end of the indoor season, Bruck still picked up four gold medals. He said: “There were very few athletes in my V75-79 age group, so I found myself competing with the V70-74 ‘kids’.”

Bruck, 79, leapt 1.15m in the high jump which led to his selection for the V70 category of the English Masters Inter Area Challenge in Coventry in July.

Long-distance athlete Sara Black, 46, of London Heathside, posted a PB of 42.12 at the Crouch End 10K in London.

U13 Jacob Clement and U15 Jayden Klein of Maccabi London Harriers improved their best times for the sprints to 13.78 (100m) and 28.44 (200m) respectively at Lee Valley.
