Nathan Sollosi and Sam Sollosi bagged braces as Redbridge B boosted their promotion hopes with a 10-1 demolition of London Haroldeans.

Redbridge began the day knowing only a win would be good enough against Haroldeans with five remaining fixtures and promotion the aim.

Early on it appeared the schlap up the North Circular and the A40 was hindering the east London boys. It normally takes 20 minutes for them to warm, up but the weather break that has seen no games for nearly five weeks was manifesting itself in poor control, no movement and aimless long balls.

It was with this that Haroldeans took a deserved lead with a simple finish from six yards that beat Brad Grant in the Redbridge goal. There was no sign of any change to this, though Sam Sollosi who was Redbridge stand-out player in the first half had a smart shot just over the bar towards the end of the half.

The hair-dryer was not turned on by the management team of Pete Solossi and Jon Jacobs, but a simple reminder was given that they were an excellent technical and passing team but didn’t have a divine right to score goals - they have to earn it.

With this message in their ears plus a blast from their senior player Craig Sandford, the RJC boys started brightly in the second half. But who knew what was to come ...

The equaliser came with a smart finish by Sam Sollosi from a cross by Scott Oldstein followed a goal from James Berkley two minutes later. Soon after came a collector's item - a bullet header by Scott Oldstein from a driven Adam Goldman corner.

The Haroldeans resistance was well and truly over now and Redbridge were keeping their foot down on the pedal. The Sollosi brothers were running the show, with Nathan scoring with a brilliant header and then a shot followed by the goal of the game from Sam in to the right hand top corner.

Craig Sandford then got the goal his efforts fully warranted with a dink over the keeper, Goldman hit a cross that drifted in and Goldberg, who had impressed as a second half sub, scored from a few yards out.

The defenders put the final gloss on the game with a 20 -ard low drilled finish by Jordan Sapler to bring up double figures for Redbridge and an unbelievable final score of 10 goals to 1.

History was then made with 10 minutes to go, when Pete Sollosi was brought on to join his two younger sons on the pitch.

Haroldeans co-manager Sam Huglin told JC Sport: "It was the ultimate game of two halves and the first half was every bit as good as the second half was was bad.

"Losing Ben Gardner, our centre back, was massive. We lost our shape. Then, we thought we had a perfectly good goal disallowed, which would have made it 2-0.

"It was disappointing to crumble as much as we did in the second half and 10-1 was a crushing defeat. Bbut there's no point dwelling on that now, as there are still points to play for."
