Red-hot Republic march towards the treble

articlemain

Anthony Bloch is backing his Republic of Mancunia side to write their name into the MJSL history books by pulling off a stunning treble.

Bloch's boys moved to the summit following last weekend's hard-fought 3-1 victory over defending champions Haroldeans and will wrap up the title if they record victories in their final two league games.

Only Manchester Maccabi 3rd can deny Republic their first ever league crown with the two teams set to go head-to-head in a 'Super Sunday' clash at Brooklands on April 10.

And with his team through to both the semi-finals of the Shonn Trophy and Feldman Cup, Bloch is adamant Republic can finish the season in sensational style.

"I still can't believe it has come to this,” said Republic chairman Bloch.

“We've got two league matches left and two semi finals to come, we have it all right in front of us.

“I couldn't have asked for any more nor a better group of lads at my disposal.

“I see no reason why we won't got to Brooklands on the 10th April, show Maccabi and the whole MJSL that we are the best team in the MJSL.

“We want to pick up our title medals and then go about adding to them in the Shonn and the Feldman Cup's in May.”

With the MJSL season reaching its climax, Bloch believes Republic's hard work and dedication to the cause are finally beginning to paying off.

“When this team was created just three years ago it was with the intention to win, to win medals and to dominate,” he added.

“I know the MJSL has some fantastic teams with golden histories which it would take decades replicate such as South Manchester, Maccabi, Haroldeans and so on.

“But come this May, Republic of Mancunia may very well have put their name in the history books for life with a historic treble.

“That’s our aim. There's a long way to go yes and we have a lot to do yet but if you don't stake high you don't achieve great things.

“I believe we are the best team in this league and that’s what we want to prove."
