Strikes from Adam Bolle and Josh Kennet steered Redbridge past Premier Division rivals Hendon at Hadley FC.

Redbridge boss Eilon Kennet told JC Sport: "We knew it would be difficult and it was, but we pulled it off exactly as planned.

"The boys were brilliant today. We really want this trophy.

"Not many teams play Hendon and come away with a clean sheet."

Hendon manager David Garbacz told JC Sport: "This was a full-bloodied cup tie between two very talented teams. We were missing many big names including the two Corins, Josh Bentley and Ari Last and then unfortunately Josh Lipman and Alex Gilbert pulled out late on as well.

"Redbridge brought in Danny Souter, Josh Kennet and three or four more top quality players who I doubt have played much for them this year. Despite that I thought we totally dominated the game with Motti Colman and Ben Lauffer both outstanding, but we just did not quite get the run of the ball.

"We were caught out in the first half to a sucker punch of a breakaway which was brilliantly finished, and then late on in the second half when we were chasing the game they scored another breakaway.

"In between that we threw everything we could at them but just couldn't find a way through their defence.

"I thought we should have had a stonewall penalty early on in the second half but unfortunately the referee disagreed.

"Redbridge are a real bogey team for us - we really did not deserve to lose today although possibly their extra experience was the difference coupled with the fact that our final ball was just a little bit off.

"We are extremely disappointed to have gone out although we do still have an awful lot to play for still this year and will be going all out to maintain our lead in the league and hope to find more silverware in the CA Cup.

"Well played to Redbridge today and we wish them luck for the rest of this competition."
