The first Jerusalem derby of the season did not disappoint, with Real taking the honours in a 10-goal thriller.

With no recognised strikers fit or available, Jerusalem put veteran defender Danny Newman into attack. They controlled the first 10 minutes, with Akiva Zneimer seeing his effort come back off the woodwork. Their pressure paid off, however, five minutes later as Zneimer fed the ball to Amit who finished off a good team move to put Jerusalem ahead.

Real Jerusalem then start bossing game, equalising with a good finish on 20 minutes after poor defending, then on the half hour a great timed run and superb finish to give Real a 2-1 lead.

Jerusalem rallied in the last 10 minutes of half and they were rewarded with an equaliser, with Lollu Hibbert scoring the goal of the game, firing into the left-hand corner from 30 yards.

Jerusalem were on top at the start of the second half. Gav Cohen sent a short inches over but a goalkeeper error allowed Real to go 3-2 up with a fourth goal coming soon after.

Jerusalem changed formation, going with three defenders and pushing Newman up front again for last 15 minutes.

The move paid dividends as within minutes Hibbert scores his second, and it was game on.

Moments later, with Jerusalem pushing for an equalizer, Real capitalise as gaps started to appear at back and they restored their two-goal advantage to make it 5-3.

Jerusalem did not let their heads drop and they set up a grandstand finish after scoring for a fourth time as a cross from Finchas resulted in an own goal.

But there was no fairytale comeback as Real caught Jerusalem with a sucker punch and a sixth goal to complete the scoring following an excellent counter-attack.

Whilst Jerusalem were weakened slightly, Real Jerusalem played some excellent football and they ran out worthy winners in a gripping contest.
