Israel's Andy Ram teamed up with Max Mirnyi of Belarus to win the men's doubles at the Bank of Austria Trophy tournament in Vienna.

The victory was Ram's 14th in doubles competition, though the straight-sets win over Philipp Petzschner and Alexander Peyer was the first time he has played without Jonathan Erlich in a tournament since winning the Indianapolis title with Croatia's Mario Ancic in 2003.

"I have really mixed feelings," said Ram. "It was a great week and I learned a lot from Max who is a very experienced doubles player. But I really missed playing with Yoni, although its always good to taste success and win a championship."

For his part Erlich, who is injured, was happy for Ram. "It's not easy to play with a new partner for the first time and win a tournament," he observed. "That shows what a great player Andy is. It's also important he should not feel down because I'm injured."
