LONDON FA SUNDAY INTERMEDIATE CUP ROUND THREE
LAPTON FC 7 HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB A 1

Hendon A's quadruple hopes are over as suffered defeat for the first time this season, going down 7-1 at Hackney Marshes.

Danny Kon fired a consolation for Hendon.

Hammers manager David Garbacz told JC Sport: "This was one of the most bizarre games I have ever watched. We genuinely had the majority of possession and created a number of clear cut-chances.

"Our final ball let us down and then we found oursleves at the mercy of some brilliant counter-attacking football by Lapton.

"They had some exceptional forwards and were far more clinical than us in front of goal.

"I realise it might sound strange considering the scoreline, but at times today we played some lovely football and on another day could have got a positive result.

"It was a good learning curve for us today and we learnt some harsh lessons when playing at this kind of level.

"On the positive side we know we competed excellently and cannot afford to make individual errors against a super strong team such as this.

"We can hold our heads up high and will be better for this experience in the coming months of this season and when we enter this cup again next year."
