Poleshchuk powers to Israeli title

Daniel Poleshchuk has advanced to 159 in the World Professional Squash Association rankings following his incredible success at the Israeli National Squash Championships.

Aged just 17 years and 10 months, the Millfield scholar became the youngest winner of the Men’s Open category.

He defeated defending champion Ido Avron 3-1 in the best of five final.

Poleshchuk won all four major tournaments on Israel’s 2013 squash calendar – adding the titles of national Junior under-19 and under-23 champion to his Maccabiah gold medal. He is also no. 1 in the European Squash Federation under-19 rankings.
