Plain sailing for Korsitz

articlemain

Lee Korsitz was crowned world windsurfing champion for the third time in her career after winning gold at the world championships in Cadiz.

Korsitz led from the start of the championships and was awarded first place when sailing was abandoned for the last two days of the event due to strong winds.

She had become the first-ever Israeli to become world champion twice following her success at last year’s event in Australia.

Having dispelled any lingering fitness concerns, Korsitz, 28, is now the strong favourite to win Olympic gold in Weymouth this summer.
