Watford Friendly League Under 9s League Cup
Pinner JFC 7 Bushey & Oxhey Tigers 1
Pinner JFCs Under 9s have their got their season off to a flying start in the Watford Friendly League where in Sunday’s game, they needed a goal margin of six to sneak into third spot in their qualification group in the League Cup and narrowly missed out on second place which would have seen them through to the knock out stage of the competition.

In the second minute of the first half, striker Ben 'The Gun' Green, opened the scoring with a real Bobby Dazzler of a goal which flew from his lethal left peg into the top right-hand corner of the Bushey goal.

From then the Sky Blues were on top, peppering the opposition’s goal which were finely saved.

Green went on to complete his hat-trick which was soon followed by a real corker by Jordan Davies.

A deflected goal gave Bushey a glimmer of hope, but just before the break Adam Cohen snuck in to tuck a through ball from Jake Greenfield to low down into the back of the Bushey net to bring the score at half time to 5-1.

In the second half the Sky Blues were again very much on top forcing another string of fine saves when Green hit the target again with a sweet left foot curler, leaving the Bushey keeper rooted to his line.

Davies completed the scoring with a sublime left-foot rocket from just inside the area and Noah Abrahams saw a real pile driver from just outside the box bounce back off the post with the metallic zing sound reverberating around the pitch.

With a resounding performance, the boys now look forward to the 'league proper' which commences in a fortnight with all eagerly anticipating a season reflective of the last where only three games were conceded.

The future is bright for these youngsters from a small outfit playing in a very competitive league, against larger and more established Hertfordshire clubs.

All of the teams are run by qualified paid coaches supplied by the club’s associated soccer school, Elite Soccer Academy.
