Pinner JFC reached the semi-finals of the WFL Spring Cup following a thrilling 2-2 draw against Edmonton Rangers Cobras.

In the final round of the Group A, Spring Cup Round Robin, the Sky Blues faced there toughest test yet against Edmonton Rangers Cobras. A draw would see Pinner through to the last four and leave the Sky Blues a step closer to a league and cup double.

Edmonton were two divisions above and proved a difficult opponent to break down. There were chances at either end, but it was left to Pinner to open the scoring with some nice footwork and one-touch passing saw them advance on the visitors goal, with dynamic interplay between Adam Cohen to set up Jake Greenfield for an easy tap in to put the Sky Blues ahead.

With only a few minutes remaining of the first half, Edmonton took their opportunity to deliver a long range 'missile' into the top left-hand corner, giving Simon Cohen, one of the two goal keepers on the day, no chance.

The second period started in much the same manner with both sides hitting the woodwork, having shots go just wide and chances spurned. Edmonton took one of those chances and converted to leave the home side trailing for the first time.

As before, the Sky Blues managed to keep their heads up, claw themselves back and get a result.

Needing a draw to go through, the opportunity arose for a free kick on the edge of area where up stepped Noah Abrahams, who blasted the ball over the defending wall, where all the keeper could do was parry the ball into the back of the net to level the score.
