Peer makes opening day bow

Shahar Peer has passed a fitness test and will line-up against Maria Elena Camerin second match on court four at Wimbledon on day one.

Having missed the French Open through injury, Peer has come through an intense training regime and she hopes to improve on last year’s best at SW19, when she reached the fourth round.

Aleksandra Wozniak of Canada (23) is up against Italian Francesca Schiavone on court 3.

In-form Dudi Sela takes on Mexican Fernandez Gonzalez in the second game on court five.

Argentina’s Sergio Roitman is out for an upset against 28th seed Mardy Fish on court 14.
