Peer earns rare success

Israel's Shahar Peer moved into the second round of the Aegon Classic in Birmingham, but only after a scare.

Peer lost the first set 6-4 against Kritina Mladenovic, but rallied superly to progress 6-2, 6-2 and set up a clash against China’s Shuai Zhang (9).

Dudi Sela's preparations for Wimbledon were dealt a blow as he was beaten in the first round at the Aegon Championships at Queens.

Sela succumbed 6-0, 5-7, 4-6 against Australian qualifier James Duckworth.
