ASHDOD 2 ENGLAND FC 1

Strikes from Ashdod Elihav Chemouny and Ofir helped Ashdod come from behind to beat highly-fancied England FC.

Ashdod dominated the first half and created a number of chances, but the England defence stood firm and organised and they opened the scoring when Roy Ben Zihou found the net on the stroke of half time.

England started the second half with only 10 men due to injury and a determined Ashdod team managed to capitalise on their numerical advantage when Elihav Chemouny - their youngest player and the son of club founder Marco Chemouny - levelled the scores.

Ashdod pushed to win the game, but England resisted with courage and they even had good opportunities to score again. Inspired by their new goalkeeper, Ashdod stood firm and their efforts were rewarded with a winning strike three minutes from time through no. 10 Ofir.

Ashdod were forced to defend for their lives in the final minutes as England threw everything at them, but they managed to hold on for a memorable win.
