Ben Polak says he is delighted with the reaction of his players since joining the management set-up at Oakwood B.

They came from behind twice to earn a point in a contest Mill Hill finished with nine men after two red cards.

Oakwood started brightly but fell behind to a controversial Zloof strike just before half-time. A number of Oakwood players stopped playing with a player down in the AC penalty area, the ball broke to Ben Zloof who ran the length of the pitch to slot past Oren Hury.

Oakwood responded well in the second half and came close from a number of set-pieces. Oakwood finally broke AC's resistance with around 20 minutes to go as Eric Lewis' cross was glanced on by Carl Peters to Woolman who was in the right place at the right time, only for AC to restore their advantage straight from kick-off through Mark Truman.

The same trio of Oaks were involved for the second equaliser as Lewis' corner was headed on by Peters to Woolman who slotted home.

The game ended controversially as two AC players were dismissed for unsporting behaviour.

Oakwood assistant-manager Ben Polak told JC Sport: ""We were much improved as a unit today, we battled hard and got something from the game, although the lads are a tad dissapointed not to take all the spoils."

"David Woolman's return from injury has been timely, he's been like a new signing and signing Jonny Pressman on a free until the end of the season has really tightened us up at the back. I still hope to unveil a couple more signings before the window slams shut, but I won't mention any names.

"I've been delighted with the reaction of the players since being appoint assistant to the manager, they often say that shaking up the management will bring results and the board have to be praised for making the move.

"It's too early to say whether I'd be interested in the role on a permanenet basis, that wouldn't be fair on Ian - he's done a terrific job the gaffer getting us out of a very competitive Division Three. I'll just focus on the next game against Faithfold B - it's a real relgation six-pointer and not one for the faint-hearted."

Mill Hill boss Joe Levy told JC Sport: "I am most disappointed that we surrendered a goal lead twice and thought that Oakwood were there for the taking.

Credit to Oakwood. They kept plugging away and got their rewards."
