Republic of Flixton threw down the gauntlet to their MJSL rivals after smashing nine for the second time this season.

Republic are six points clear of defending champions Haroldeans following their 9-0 demolition of Leeds Maccabi 3rd.

Rob Jacobs continued his impressive start to the season by firing four goals, while Steve Garman and Daniel Garman both got two each.

Josh Goldstone also got on the scoresheet for Republic as they took their goal tally for the season to 39 from eight games.

Haroldeans claimed a comfortable 4-1 win over Leeds Maccabi 2nd to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

The Merseysiders, who have three games in hand on Republic, eased past their opponents courtesy of a Jordan Brookes hat-trick and a Jamie Harris strike.

Manchester Maccabi 3rd moved up to third place following a 2-0 victory over South Manchester Sports Club 2nd.

Marc Magid and Saul Davies were on target for Maccabi, who have taken eight points from their opening five games.

Leeds Maccabi 1st made it four wins from their first five league games following a 5-2 win at Armley Conservatives.

David Woolman and Richard Black both scored twice for Leeds with Dan Ross continuing his rich vein of form with yet another strike.

Manchester Maccabi 1st stretched their unbeaten league run to five games with a crushing 6-2 win over Gardeners Clayton.

Alex Lee bagged a brace with Michael Green, Adam Stevens and Oli Grant also getting in on the act for Maccabi.
