Republic of Flixton extended their lead at the top of the MJSL to six points following a comfortable 3-0 win over Leeds Maccabi 3rd.

Saul Shapiro scored twice in the first half and Jonny Alexander grabbed a third as the title favourites continued their stunning start to the season.

Rob Jacobs turned provider on both occasions for Shapiro, while Alexander netted with a spectacular curling effort.

Haroldeans dropped their first points of the season after being held to a 2-2 draw by FC Cosmos.

Jamie Harris and Mat Alis were on target for the Merseysiders with James Bowden and Shlome Friedman replying for the visitors.

Crumpsall 1st went goal crazy against the club’s second team with a 12-1 victory.

Saul Clarke and Simon Lachs both scored four goals each as the second team were simply blown away.

Michael Freedman grabbed a brace with Michael Gastwirth and Raffy Klyne rounding off the scoring. Aaron Grossberger scored a consolation.

In the MJSL Shield, South Manchester Sports Club 2nd eased to a 4-1 win over Manchester Maccabi 3rd thanks to Edward Jackson’s quadruple strike.

Bobby Abrams scored his first goal for South Manchester Sports Club 1st as the defending champions came from behind to draw 3-3 with Mace.

Trailing 3-1, South hit back with goals from Marc Yaffe and Adam Lavin to secure a point in their latest Manchester Accountants League match.

Manchester Maccabi 1st crashed out of the Fred Davies Challenge Cup in the first round following a narrow 1-0 defeat at West Gorton.

Leeds Maccabi moved joint-top of the Sunday Alliance Premier Division following a 3-1 away win over Torpedo Woodhall.
