Haroldeans piled the pressure back on Republic of Flixton after drawing level with Stuart Delmonte’s men at the top of the MJSL.

The Merseysiders, who cruised to the title last season, eased past Leeds Maccabi 2nd 5-0 with Paul Harris, Sam Kersh, Jamie Harris, Adam Cross and Jonny Harris doing the damage.

Alex Nyman’s stunning hat-trick inspired Leeds Maccabi students to their first win of the season following a shock 5-4 win at Manchester Maccabi 2nd.

Nyman’s treble and two goals from Liron Mannie helped to inflict a first defeat of the campaign on a Manchester Maccabi 2nd side chasing the league title.

Jake Berger, Marc Sheldon, Sam Modlin and Daniel Rubinstein were on target for the hosts.

Oakhill Lions edged out Manchester Maccabi 3rd in a seven-goal thriller.

Marc Maynard’s double and further strikes from Robert Selwyn and Anthony Madden gave the students all three points.

Moshe Hasid’s brace and Adam Kaye’s effort proved in vain for Maccabi 3rd.

Ben Peppi scored twice and Josh Klepper's effort ensured South Manchester Sports 2nd overcame Broughton 3-2.

Adam Lisberg and Serge Fagelman were both on the scoresheet for the visitors.

Alex Glassman scored the only goal of the game as FC Cosmos won their first game of the season after a 1-0 victory over Crumpsall 2nd.

Elsewhere, Republic of Flixton’s adventure in the FA Sunday Amateur Cup came to an end following a 3-1 defeat by Salford Athletic. Rob Jacobs got the goal for Republic.

Dan Seligman scored a hat-trick as Leeds Maccabi 1st cruised past Waterloo 6-0.

Ben Ullmann, Dan Ross and Charlie Myers also found the net for Ian Selwyn’s men.

South Manchester Sports 1st claimed their sixth successive league victory after hammering Iraq FC 7-1 with Adam Lavin grabbing a hat-trick.

Adam Stevens was on target for Manchester Maccabi 1st as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Denton in Division Two of the Tameside League.
