Republic of Flixton are just one win away from securing their first ever MJSL title after crushing championship rivals Manchester Maccabi 2nd.

Republic cruised to a 5-0 win thanks to goals from five different players Saul Shapiro, James Rosenberg, Jonny Lewis, Rob Jacobs and Daniel Garman all got on the scoresheet.

After a goalless first half, Republic turned on the style to claim all three points and move ever closer to the league crown.

In the Shonn Trophy, Haroldeans booked their place in the semi-final with a 2-0 win at FC Cosmos.

Matt Alis scored both goals to set up a last four clash with either Crumpsall, Manchester Maccabi 2nd or Oakhill.

Meanwhile, Leeds Maccabi 1st suffered heartache after crashing out of the Alliance Challenge Cup at the semi-final stage.

Ian Selwyn’s men went down to a last minute 2-1 defeat against Bramley after Richard Black’s strike looked to have taken the tie to extra time.

South Manchester remain on course for the treble after defeating Montgomery 4-2 in the quarter finals of the Manchester Accountants League Cup.

Two goals from Jack Lee and further strikes from Simon Davies and Marc Yaffe did the job.
