Newman is top of the class again

articlemain

Josh Newman continued his excellent run of form with victory at the National Schools Trampolining Championships in Cannock.

Having won gold at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in January, Newman, 14, had been struggling with growing pains in the run-up to the competition. The Billericay youngster reached the final by winning the Eastern region final.

Newman has recently changed club after moving from Brentwood Trampolining Club to Gillingham Jumpers, where he works together with a leading conditioning coach from Russia.

With two major pieces of silverware in his trophy cabinet, Newman will compete at four national galas and the national finals over the coming months culminating in the World Championships in Bulgaria in November.
