Neasden sign Babai and Haik

Neasden A have announced two big signings after landing Paul Babai and Jonny Haik from Premier Division rivals Faithfold A.

The pair were key players in the Faithfold team that were runners-up in the Peter Morrison Trophy and finished third in the MSFL.

Babai worked closely with new Neasden joint-manager Darren Yarlett as part of the GB Open Football team that won gold at the European Maccabi Games in Vienna. The midfield powerhouse has also been a key member of the MSFL Rep Team over the past couple of seasons.

A delighted Yarlett told JC Sport: "I would like to welcome on board two new official signings - Jonny Haik and Paul Babai.

"Lee and I are absolutely delighted to have signed the pair. I had been after their signatures for a while and we finally got them.

"Jonny is an exciting raw talent who has great technical ability and should be looking to hit double figures this season.

"Paul is someone who I rate as one or if not the best Jewish centre midfielder in his role.

"I worked with him for 12 weeks in training for Maccabiah and in Austria where he was a huge part of the team winning gold and he was, in my opinion, one of the stand-out performers.

"I look forward to working with these boys closely."

The double signings come on the back of Scott Shindler returning to the club.

Scott Shindler, the JC MSFL Division Two Player of the Year, has explained his reasons for leaving Temple Fortune A after just one season to return to former double winners.

Shindler told JC Sport: "I want to play at the highest level I can, with good quality players whilst getting first-class training from Darren Yarlett. My year at TFFC was a fantastic year and I hope they have another successful year and challenge well in Division One. I wish them all the very best."
