Republic of Flixton maintained their impressive start to the season with a comfortable 4-0 win over last season’s basement boys Broughton.

Jacob Kleinman continued his rich vein of goalscoring form with a double, while Adam Tauber and Moise Hasid also got in on the act.

Republic have now taken seven points from a possible nine and remain top ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Manchester Maccabi 3rd.

Manchester Maccabi 3rd held Manchester Maccabi 2nd to a 3-3 draw in an enthralling contest.

Saul Davies, Adam Herman and Harry Myers were on target for the 3rd team, with Jake Kelly’s brace and Avi Libbert’s strike ensuring matters ended level.

Johnny Goldstone scored the only goal of the game as Leeds Maccabi 3rd defeated Crumpsall 1st in their opening game of the season.

Haroldeans were awarded all three points after South Manchester 2nd Sports Club were unable to field a team for their fixture
