South Manchester 2nd goalkeeper Gary Stewart was rushed to hospital with a facial injury during his side’s 4-1 defeat against league leaders Haroldeans.

Stewart received 15 stitches after being caught in the face by Adam Boyars, who was sent off on his first start for the Merseysiders.

But despite being reduced to 10 men, Haroldeans racked up their sixth win in six league matches to move four points clear at the top of the MJSL.

James Harris scored twice, while an own-goal and an Alistair Goldsmith strike sealed the victory with Simon Madison replying for South.

Manchester Maccabi 3rd were held for the second week in succession as Paul Basger claimed a point for Republic of Mancunia 1st.

Jake Bentwood was on target for Maccabi 3rd as Steve Bentwood’s men dropped further behind Haroldeans in the race for the title.

Hyde Park Rovers cruised to victory in the Leeds derby after crushing Leeds Maccabi 3rd 6-0.

David Cohen scored twice with Ryan Silvester, Dan Seligman, Jay Rosenthal and David Herman all on target.

Rafi Bloom inspired Sporting JLGB to a narrow 3-2 win over Crumpsall at Frederick Road.

Bloom scored twice and Aaron Englander also got on the scoreseet with Michael Pine and Frenchie Freedman replying for winless Crumpsall.

Benji Las, Josh Barth and Marc Maynard all hit the target as Oakhill Lions grabbed their first win of the season.

Samuel Fulda got one back for Broughton, who remain bottom of the league without a point.
