MJSL round-up: October 30

articlemain

Haroldeans look set to have the MJSL title wrapped up before the end of the year after they moved nine points clear at the top.

Cabral Christian’s brace and a goal from captain Danny Burman was enough to see off Sporting JLGB 3-1 in a hard-fought encounter.

Christian, who is set to miss next weekend’s game against Hyde Park through suspension, fired Ivan Gee’s men into a two-goal lead.

Moshe Hasid pulled one back for Sporting but Berman netted late on to secure the points for the league leaders.

Reigning champions Manchester Maccabi 3rd are rapidly losing their hold on the crown after going down 3-1 to Oakhill.

Steve Bentwood’s boys slipped to third following their second defeat of the season as the Manchester students eased to victory.

Marc Woolfe, Harry Roach and Michael Massarano wrapped up the points for Oakhill, who are now unbeaten in six league matches.

South Manchester 2nd moved up to second in the MJSL but only after being made to sweat by basement boys Broughton.

New boss Sydney Fulda took charge of Broughton for the first time since replacing Josh Bor and looked to have secured a rare victory when Jacob Richler-Kleinman fired home from the penalty spot.

But late goals from Oli Black and Nathan Ezair spared South’s blushes as they stole all three points at the death.

Mark Clayton scored at both ends as Republic of Mancunia 1st came back to claim a point in a tight 1-1 draw against Hyde Park.

Clayton’s own-goal had given Rovers the lead but his late equaliser kept Republic ahead of their Yorkshire rivals in the league table.

Crumpsall’s resurgence continued as they came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Republic of Mancunia 2nd.

Gab Silva and Daniel Klapisch had given Paul Levy’s side the advantage at the break but a double by Shaya Halpern ensured the points were shared.
