Newly crowned Division Two champions London Maccabi Vale 1st maintained their unbeaten Middlesex Sunday League record after recording a 108-run victory over SKPP.

Sent in to bat, LMV made full use of the 40 overs with captain Adam Brand (71) continuing his purple patch. Opener Danny Caro (30) anchored the innings with Mark Bott blasting his way to an unbeaten 46.

The wicket did not improve in the second innings as SKPP were dismissed for 127. Saul Weitzman (4-22) was the pick of the bowlers with Ryan Kangisser claiming 3-44.

London Maccabi Vale 2nd completed an encouraging league season with a 94-run defeat against Harrow St. Mary’s in the Middlesex Sunday League Division Three.

An exceptional spell from Jonathan Freedman (3-22) put LMV in a good position. However, some wayward bowling and fielding in the second half of the innings allowed HSM to score at least 50 more than par on a wicket were the ball was always doing something. The only other figures of note were 3-34 for captain Jonathan Lederman and four catches behind the stumps for the returning Mark Spanjar as HSM closed on 206-8.

In reply the LMV innings never got going. Nineteen runs off the first 10 overs and 47 off the first 20, were never going to be a base for chasing a large target. Only Jeremy Harris with a typically stout rearguard action, scoring 42 allowed LMV to reach three figures as they finished well short on 110-8.
