MGBSFL Team of the Season

With the season finally over, there's only one thing left to do, so here's is Danny Caro's MGBSFL Master-Class.

JAKE DOFFMAN (Norstar London Raiders A)
Only 12 goals conceded in his first season at the club. Kept his side in games on numerous occasions and played every minute of the campaign.

    SAM JACOBSON (Oakwood A)
Has turned into a player his team cannot do without. Free-scoring defender who was cruelly forced to miss the Cyril Anekstein Cup semi-final and Peter Morrison Trophy final through injury.

DAVID RHODES (Norstar London Raiders A)
Imperious skipper at the heart of the NLR defence. Enjoyed his best year at the club in his testimonial season. Led by example week in, week out.

JAKE YUDELOWITZ (Norstar London Raiders C)
A rock at the heart of defence all season, Jake has certainly lit up most games he’s played in and players have thrived and improved from playing with him in the team. He came in this season as the youngest squad member by quite a few years and slotted in with ease. Also excellent on the ball.

DAVE ESTERKIN (Norstar London Raiders B)
The ‘Beast’ dominated game after game, insatiable energy, crunching tackles and sublime finishing saw him finish with 16 goals from 14 matches. Goodness knows what damage he’d have done if he’d been available every game.

ARI LAST (Hendon United Sports Club A
An incredibly consistent year and since taking over from Josh Lipman as club skipper in February, he has been on a one-man mission to ensure top quality team performances week in, week out on the march towards the treble. Strong in the air, strong on the ground and has been a massive presence as leader of the strongest midfield in Jewish football. Has had a magnificent season.

NATHAN SOLLOSI (Redbridge Jewish Care B)
The young midfield general registered 20 goals, performing with pace, power and aggression. “The best player in the league, in all divisions,” according to his manager.

GREG CORIN (Hendon United Sports Club A)
Contributed in the region of 70 assists of the team’s 102 goals in all competitions this season. “Undoubtedly the most creative and naturally skillful player there has been this season and an inspiration to all around him".

    BRADLEY WINE (Oakwood A)
Developed into Oakwood’s talisman. His performances in the Peter Morrison Trophy were “unbelievable”. The season ended too soon given form he was in.

    RICHARD FOGELMAN (L’Equipe)
Every successful team needs a fox-in-the-box, but Fogelman has many strings to his bow – scoring some sensational efforts from distance among the 42 finishes that earned him the Golden Boot.

    MITCH HAHN (Woodford Wanderers)
"Every opposing player wants to be like Mitch, but they can’t, so they try to kick him instead,” said Woodford boss Tony Charles. Mitch scored the best goal Charles “has ever seen live” and also managed to score from the halfway line, whilst goading the opposing team. Technically great and a valuable member of his team.
