DANNY CARO'S GOAL OF THE WEEK - STEVE SUMMERS

---------------------------------
---------------------------------

JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
1. ZACK RICH (Temple Fortune) - a low strike from the edge of the area into the bottom corner was a goal from the moment it left his foot, leaving the keeper wrong footed and with no chance
2. DOMINIC HALLETT (Temple Fortune) - a high looping winner into the top corner in the last minute
3. JO DAVIS (Los Blancos) - scored a screamer from 20 yards out against Camden Park
4. GREG CORIN (Hendon A) - one goal we did score was one of the best team goals you are likely to see at this level, starting with Russ Corin at the back and switching left then right before ending off with a typical Corin finish into the back of the net
5. STEVE SUMMERS (Redbridge A) - left two defenders on their tuchases before smashing it home
6. ROB SAMUELSON (NL Raiders B) - culminated from a flowing passing move which started with a neat give-and-go between Adam Posner and Andrew McMaster before the former sent Simon Buchler through down the right wing, he squared the ball to Jacob Gold who turned it on to Samuelson. Sammy then cut inside the left hand side of the box on to his right foot before curling the ball in to the top corner off the underside of the bar - a sublime goal
7. JOEL ISAACS (Catford & Bromley) - turned two defenders inside out before curling it inside the post with the outside of his right boot
8. ZAC BRIN (Jewdinese) - a cracking strike from 25 yards that flew into the bottom corner
9. OLLIE BRILL (Jewdinese) - an absolute pearler into the top corner

---------------------------------
---------------------------------

DANNY CARO'S SAVE OF THE WEEK - TONY HIRSCHSTEIN

---------------------------------
---------------------------------

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
1. BRAD GRANT (Redbridge B) - at 0-0 against SPEC FC, Grant produced an acrobatic save to keep out a 20 yard shot
2. DAVID KOSKY (ML Lions Blue) - diving to keep out a penalty destined for the top corner
3. TONY HIRSCHSTEIN (Temple Fortune) - SAVE 1 - pulled off the save of the game from a glancing Ben Glekin header at full stretch heading into the bottom corner which he turned around the post
4. TONY HIRSCHSTEIN (Temple Fortune) - SAVE 2 - at 1-1 a low strike across to face the goal with players arriving to snaffle any rebound and Tony saved low clearing the penalty area with minutes to go
5. GUY BEN AROYA (Catford & Bromley) - made an exceptional save to deny a certain goal with Mill Hill's striker through one-on-one. The ball was going right inside the far corner, but he managed to get the slightest touch on it at full stretch to send it round the post

---------------------------------

DANNY CARO'S QUOTE OF THE WEEK - ADAM GLEKIN

---------------------------------
---------------------------------

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
1. JONATHAN ISON (Los Blancos) - "That's now 10 points out of 12, and we're really enjoying our football at the moment. A Blancos and Liverpool win on the same weekend - miracles truly do happen!"
2. ADAM GLEKIN (Hendon B) - "It was like one of those classic Championship Manager matches where you have 25 shots on goal and the opposition has two and you lose 2-1"
3. JAMES GOLD (ML Lions Blue) - "It was a good, professional performance that the team dedicate to Jamie Kyte who we wish a big mazel tov to after getting engaged. Hopefully he gets priorities in order and is back in the dugout next week!"
4. RIC BLANK (Oakwood A) - "It was interesting to see Alex Levack, amongst others, lining up for Lions.
We were expecting them to be strong - and we weren't disappointed"
5. SIMON LINDEN (Blizzard Storm) - " I can take so many positives from this performance, none of my boys let me down and the discipline and fight was there to be seen"
6. ANTHONY COHEN (AC Whetstone) - "We lost 3-1 but one was a penalty and another needed goal line technology which surprisingly wasn't installed at West Hendon playing fields. Ref gave it!"
7. JAKE ERLICH (Jewdinese) - "Jubilant 'Nese chief Jake Erlich told JC Sport: "The question on everyone's lips was could Norstar do it on a cold Sunday morning away to the nese? The answer was no."

---------------------------------
---------------------------------

JC MOMENT OF THE WEEK
1. BRAD GRANT (Redbridge JC B) - With the sun in his eye, Grant came rushing out took his cap off and tried to throw his cap on the ball, comedy gold

YOUR WEEKEND REVIEW STARTS HERE:

SUNDAY CHALLENGE CUP LAST 16

RAIDERS MUGGED
DEES FC 3 NORSTAR LONDON RAIDERS A 1
Raiders bowed out of the Sunday Challenge Cup following a 3-1 defeat against Dees in Mitcham, with Ben Joseph grabbing a consolation.

NLR's Jonathan Green told JC Sport: "It's strange to say considering the result, but at times we played some brilliant stuff, especially in the first half. It was one of these situations where it is hard to believe that we didn’t walk off the pitch winning 4 or 5-0.

"We were totally dominant for almost the duration of the match and got caught by clinical sucker punches. We will take some useful lessons away from this game, against a type of opposition we don’t usually face and this allows us to focus on the important business of the top three Jewish competitions. It’s never a nice feeling to lose on a Sunday morning, but if we had to leave one competition at a relatively early stage this was the one to lose in.

"We will now re-group and get ready for what will be a very tough test against Faithfold on the weekend."

DC Prediction: Dees 1 NLR 3

WONDERFUL WOOLMAN CAGES LIONS
OAKWOOD A 6 MACCABI LONDON LIONS SENIORS 0
DAVE WOOLMAN was the hat-trick hero as last season's finalists Oakwood gave Lions Seniors the run-around at Rowley Lane.

A double from the in-form Josh Rose and man-of-the-moment Brad Wine completed the rout.

Oaks joint-boss Ric Blank told JC Sport: "We were just too good for Lions Senior. We had too much pace and we just looked in the mood from the word go."

Lions boss Dan Jacobs told JC Sport: "It will take a very good team playing very well to beat them if they play like that in future rounds."

Team head coach Ben Gilbey told JC Sport: "Over the last few years we have been the lower league team going up against Premier teams and causing upsets. We needed to make sure that this was not going to be the case against us on the weekend. We controlled the game and scored some great goals to achieve victory. However, credit to AC Whetstone, who are a very young team, who gave us a really good game and if they took a few more chances, could have caused us real problems.

"I have been really impressed with how the boys have been defending as a team, making it very hard for oppositions to get many chances and break us down.

"We are playing with a good shape and improving week in week out. I hope for this to continue as well as our good form and if it does, FC Team A will no doubt be a force to be feared throughout this season.

DC Prediction: Whetstone 1 Team 3

PEARSON OFF THE MARK
BLIZZARD STORM 1 HARMEN 2
Mike Pearson fired his first goal for the club as Harmen edged past first division Blizzard Storm.

Harmen old boy Brad Cohen had levelled from the spot for Blizzard after 60 minutes.

Blizzard boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "It was a good, hard-fought battle; there was very little between the teams. I can take so many positives from this performance, none of my boys let me down and the discipline and fight was there to be seen. For me, it's all about the next two weeks now - getting six points in the league before the break is crucial."

DC Prediction: Blizzard 1 Harmen 3

HAMMER SQUEEZE HOME
HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB A 1 WOODFORD WANDERERS 0
A solitary strike from Greg Corin steered cup holders Hendon at the expense of Premier Division rivals Woodford.

Hendon boss David Garbacz told JC Sport: "Do not be fooled by the 1-0 scoreline - we must have had 25 attempts on goal at least and if we didn't completely leave our shooting boots at home, the score would have been far more emphatic."

After the game, Woodford boss Tony Charles announced that he is stepping down, with Mitch Hahn taking charge as caretaker-manager.

Shacharit pulled one back in the second half before James Gold rounded off the scoring to ease Lions through.
