MGB Netball bounce back to beat Dacorum

articlemain

Maccabi GB claimed a 30-22 victory over Dacorum in their penultimate match of the season.

MGB got off to a shaky start and after leading by two points at the start of the first quarter, they faced a six-goall deficit by the end of the quarter.

After a tactical change and some words of encouragement from the team and coach, Maccabi took to the courts for the second quarter. The team managed to turn the game around and dominated for the rest of the match.

With some strong attacking play from GA Jess Pinnick and excellent support from WA Lauren Shiers, the attack set up looked stronger than ever. There was also some superb defence from GD Danya Copans, who made some incredible interceptions, denying Dacorum’s very consistent GA from receiving the ball.

The victory sets up the MGB team well for their final match of the season against a very strong Watford Premier team which is taking place on the April 15.

MGB's Daniel Morris said: "I was incredibly proud of the girls to fight back and take the match. I told the girls it’s one thing to win a match straight out, but to fight for the win from a losing position shows true strength and determination.

"I am extremely excited about our next match against Watford Premier, who we lost to earlier in the season.

"Given the progress the team has made, I am confident the outcome will be different this time.”
