YOUR WEEKEND REVIEW STARTS HERE:

CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP ROUND TWO

IT'S LEGS 11 FOR HENDON
HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB A 11 (ELEVEN) SHIRLEY PARK 1
A DANNY KON treble helped Hendon A batter Division One promotion hopefuls Shirley Park into submission as they notched up double figures.

Further strikes from Ari Last (2), Yishai Last (2), Greg Corin (2), Ben Kon and new signing Yoav Lebens completed the rout to set up a third-round trip to Chigwell.

Shirley's consolation came through top-scorer Jamie Kent.

Hendon boss David Garbacz told JC Sport: "It was not quite the 17 goals from round one, but not far off and probably overall a better all-round display.

"We were clinical and professional today against a decent Division One side, with everyone contributing well on a very enjoyable morning. The pitch was in great condition and it suited us perfectly and we were able to play the ball around at will and create numerous chances.

"The squad is looking very strong this year - strengthened even further with the addition of Yoav Lebens and it was nice to see him get on the scoresheet on his debut for the club.

"It was a relief to get back on the pitch after the last couple of weeks of postponements and especially good to have picked up where we left off. 28 goals in two rounds of this cup so far is a reasonable return so we are looking well set up and the Sunday afternoon tea is tasting good."

DC Prediction: Hendon 4 Shirley 2

OAKS CRUISE HOME
OAKWOOD A 4 TEMPLE FORTUNE 0
Premier Division class told as a double from Jonny Quinn plus one apiece from Brad Wine and an own goal eased Oakwood through at the expense of third division Temple Fortune.

Oaks boss Ric Blank, who missed the game, told JC Sport: "We're happy to get through after fairly one-sided affair. Now can't wait for a trip to Brady in next round. It should be a cracking game."

DC Prediction: Oakwood 6 Fortune 0

A last-minute equaliser from two-goal hero Richard Silver ensured a share of the spoils for Camden against Lions Blue.

Lions's goals came through a stunning strike from Adam Kosky plus another from Oliver Sade.

The Division One champions showed excellent character to come from two goals down to earn a point.

Camden boss Josh Marks told JC Sport: "It was a fair result and the ref had a good game."

RED-HOT REEVES EASES FAITHFOLD HOME
LONDON MACCABI LIONS WHITE 0 FAITHFOLD A 4
A brilliant brace from Sam Reeves inspired defending champions Faithfold A to an emphatic 4-0 win over struggling Lions White.

Further goals from Rocky Spitzer and Mike Pearson sealed the win.

Faithfold boss Zuriel Solomon told JC Sport: "I'm happy with the performance today and clean sheet against a very young Lions team with a few old heads in the team. Lions were not at there strongest and are going through a transitional period, but we had to make sure we didn't give them any belief. We hit the bar three times and should have scored a couple more, but the windy conditions made it a bit difficult.

LML boss Eilon Kennet told JC Sport: "The under 18s acquitted themselves really well, but it was a tough introduction to men's football. Men against boys really, but they will now be a regular part of the LML-Whites."

RAMPANT REDBRIDGE BATTER BRADY
REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A 3 BRADY MACCABI A 0
A deadly double from Adam Stolerman helped Redbridge claim an impressive 3-0 win over Brady at Fairlop.

Danny Berg's first goal of the season sealed a memorable win for the RJC boys.

Brady boss Joel Nathan told JC Sport: "It was not a good day as we really did not adapt to the windy conditions while Redbridge did. We had chances when we were 1-0 and then 2-0 down, but failed to convert and Redbridge were worthy winners on the day. The boys are disappointed but know there is still much to play for and will be bouncing back next week."

Two goals from summer signing Steve Summers paved the way for Chigwell's impressive win over SPEC FC. James Jaconelli, Ryan Cole and Bradley Gayer sealed the points.

Oli Levy grabbed a consolation for Chigwell - his first for the club.

Delighted Chigwell boss Richard Slater told JC Sport: "It was a superb performance from start to finish. It was a constant wave of attacks with some quality football."

SPEC FC's Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: "We were poor, they were good. 5-1 was provably a bit harsh but we must improve and quick."

HENDON OFF THE MARK
HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB B 2 BRADY MACCABI B 1
Hendon B ended their bad run of results as Parys Hammond and Alon Blitz fired them to a famous win over Brady B.

Josh Newman replied for Brady who missed the chance to go clear at the top.

Hendon assistant-player-manager Chaim Gothold told JC Sport: "It was a really good result for us against a decent Brady side. We fully deserved our win. Attitude and application was spot on across the team. Despite going a goal down we responded magnificently to take all three points.

"We hope to build on this by beating SPEC on Sunday although we know that we are in for a tough game."

DC Prediction: Hendon 1 Brady 4

HURRAY FOR HARMEN
LOS BLANCOS 2 SOUTHGATE HARMEN 3
Alex Bowman, Lee Greenfield and Sam Castle earned Harmen their third league win of the campaign as they won a five-goal thriller against Blancos.

Harmen had led 2-0, but Blancos levelled through Darren Russell and James Joseph, but Harmen went on to do the business.

Harmen joint-manager Joel Alterman told JC Sport: "It was a tough game, with the weather acting as a leveller, however we battled on the pitch and couldn’t be happier with all three points. We must show that spirit every week. Next up for us is Neasden at home which will be another tough test, but one we are looking forward to."

SUPER SIMONS STRIKES AGAIN
AC MILL HILL 1 BLIZZARD STORM 1
The red-hot Daniel Simons was on the mark again as the Blizzard boys earned a creditable point at AC Mill Hill.

Don Nineberg registered for Mill Hill.

SEE MATCH PHOTOS

Blizzard boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "I'm more than happy with a point, we may have lost this type of game last season. Seb Vandermolen was chosen to man-mark Ben Zloof up front and did a great job limiting him to chances."

Mill Hill manager Joe Levy told JC Sport: "We played some of our best football of the season. Despite missing a couple of players it was a great team performance and we were unlucky not to come away with all three points. We still have a lot to work on but we are improving weekly."

BOCA ON THE UP

It was another super Sunday for those Boca boys, with Yoshua Silverman, Zalmy Cohen and Dovi Fehrer doing the damage as they claimed their third win of the campaign.

Barry Green fired a consolation for Loughton but it was Boca who came away smiling after finishing the weekend in the lofty heights of sixth place.

Loughton boss Dan Curtis told JC Sport: "The first half was fairly even, but it was all Boca in the second half. We could not get a grip on the game and Boca were deserved winners."

SUPER SELSDON HALTS CATS
CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI 1 KING CROWN 1
Leaders Catford were frustrated by the brilliance of King Crown keeper Ryan Selsdon as they were forced to settle for a point at Norseman FC.

In the end, Steve Keller's strike was all they had to show for their efforts, cancelling out another top-class effort from Benji Greenblatt.

Cats captain Adam Luria told JC Sport: "We didn't really turn up in the first half and KC were well up for it. They scored first although we missed a couple of chances. Second half we were more competitive and missed enough chances to win three or four games, but KC were still dangerous on the break. On the balance of play, although we created and missed more chances, they were worth a point. Still, we'll take the draw and look to come back after the week off with a renewed will to win."

King Crown boss Jacob Erlich told JC Sport: "We missed around eight chances, four one-on-ones and going forward the final pass was missing which was unlike our usual selves. However, we was solid at the back best defensive performance of the season. I feel we edged it slightly, but a draw was a fair result as we tired in the last 20 after putting a lot in."

HENDON DESTROYED BY ZAC ATTACK
JEWDINESE 5 HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB C 1
Chairman ZAC BRIN (3) and Jake Erlich (2) led the way as Jewdinese registered a stunning win over Hendon C.

Jewdinese Darren Lawrence told JC Sport: "Zac Brin got three, Jake Erlich got 2, I might have to register myself to get in on the act. A great performance from every one of my players and I cannot fault anyone. Now for a big game against Whetstone next week"

Jewdinese Jake Erlich told JC Sport: "A great result and great performance for the boys. Hendon were superb in their character to not give up even when they went three down and full credit to them for giving everything for 90 minutes."

Hendon boss Adam Glekin told JC Sport; "We were poor all over the pitch and didn't deserve anything from the game. We were outplayed and outfought by Jewdinese, though I have to say a look at the respect the ref campaign wouldn't go amiss on their side."

WEINRICH LATE SHOW HALTS L'EQUIPE
NORSTAR LONDON RAIDERS C 4 L’EQUIPE 1
Two goals from Jamie Weinrich guided Norstar London Raiders C to victory in the top of the table clash against L'Equipe at the Ark.

Oli Nathan had given NLR an early lead in an impressive performance, with Nick Haringman also on target as NLR moved to within five points of top spot.

Josh Lewis grabbed a consolation for L'Equipe.

NLR boss Zack Gothelf told JC Sport: "We've got the best defence in the league and it showed in this game. Grant Waissel in net didn't have much to do and the impressive Jake Yudelowitz at centre back ensured that Richard Fogelman barely got a sniff of the ball."

L'Equipe joint-manager Dan Cordell told JC Sport: "Taking the silver-lining from the result is that it's almost November and we have just lost our first game of the season so we just need to make sure we bounce on from here right."
