CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP ROUND FOUR

CAMDEN LATE SHOW LEAVES MILL HILL HEARTBROKEN
CAMDEN PARK 3 AC MILL HILL 2
Premier Division Camden needed a late goal to secure their place in the next round following an epic battle against second division Mill Hill in a five-goal thriller in White City.

Ben Zloof put Mill Hill ahead, but David Kanzen levelled, with the industrious Rob Hershkorn setting up the opener plus one for two-goal hero Guy Marks. Ben Grabiner had made it 2-2 with a far-post header before Marks broke their hearts late on.

Relieved Camden manager Josh Marks told JC Sport: "We were weak defensively but Rob and Guy pulled us out of trouble. The only good thing really was the result because it was another below par performance."

Mill Hill boss Joe Levy told JC Sport: "Full credit to Camden. They are a great team and are a pleasure to watch. Jake Saunders in the middle is superb and is definitely one to keep an eye on."

RAIDERS LATE SHOW BREAKS BLANCOS HEARTS
LOS BLANCOS 1 NORSTAR LONDON RAIDERS A 4
NLR maintained their relentless march towards the domestic treble with an easy win over first division Blancos on the 3g at Brunel.

Josh Morris put NLR ahead, but a stunning effort from top-scorer hauled Blancos level. But parity was restored as L'Orange flexed their muscles, with strikes from Josh Pistol, Zak Mcleod and Matt Stock taking them through.

MCLEOD ON THE WAY TO BLANCOS

Manager Phil Peters was pleased with the result: "I'm delighted for the boys that we've made it through to the cup semi-final – a first for many of them – and we can't wait for the draw to be made."

Blancos chairman Joel Minsky told JC Sport: "NLR's class told eventually, but if it wasn't for two sloppily conceded goals from set-pieces, there would have been a lot to play for as the game entered its closing stages."

OPPORTUNITY MISSED BY MIS-FIRING FAITHFOLD
LONDON MACCABI LIONS BLUE 1 FAITHFOLD A 1
A strike from Joey Lazare, following excellent play from James Gold, saw Lions Blue claim another point in their battle against the drop, as Faithfold disappointing run of form continued at Rowley Lane.

Lions player-manager Jamie Kyte told JC Sport: “A massive point for us today and I’m very proud of the team’s performance. Today we showed that if we play to our potential and we have a bit of luck on our side, we can get points against any team in the league.”

Faithfold boss Zuriel Solomon told JC Sport: "This was another disappointing result - we just can’t seem able to get a win. It was another game we dominated but just could not find the net. Lions were lucky the weather was awful and we left our shooting boots at home. Saying that our luck will change and when it does we will be able to put a good run together."

SPEC FC's Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: ""It was a well-contested game and although Brady were probably the better side, having been ahead three times, once with just six minutes to go, we should have held on."

FORTUNE TEACH JEWDINESE A LESSON
JEWDINESE 1 TEMPLE FORTUNE 3
Jewdinese's promotion challenge was dealt a major blow as they came out second best against rock bottom Fortune.

Strikes from Zach Rich, Nick Stone and Michael Goldberg earned Fortune the result that can only be described as the 'coupon buster' after Joe Perl had put 'Nese ahead.

Jonanthan Cohen commented: "It's a great result and I'm very happy. I would go as far as to say that we were comfortable. We went to a local in London Colney to celebrate a massive victory!"

L'Equipe gave their fans something to cheer about with a 2-0 victory over Hendon C, thanks to another goal from Richard Fogelman and a wonder strike from Richard Alexander.

L'Equipe joint-manager Dan Cordell told JC Sport: "The was a very solid win and our defence was fantastic. Onwards as upwards and a great start to 2014, given we haven't had a game in over four weeks."

Hendon manager Adam Glekin told JC Sport: "Our season is in danger of petering out so it's my job to ensure we take as many points as possible from our remaining fixtures."
