MAL 2nd suffered an eight-wicket defeat in a friendly against Hampstead.

Hampstead elected to field on what looked to be a decent but used track.

Opening bowler Bradley was getting good carry and beat the bat regularly. Avi Gelley was the first man out after a mix-up with Daniel Susser saw him run out.

Susser was watchful whilst his partners threw their wickets away generally after hitting a few nice boundaries. Bradley proved to be too quick for the MAL batsmen and blew away the MAL top order.

There was a brief cameo from Sam Hillel, who took to the Hampstead spinner but the wet ball meant the seamers came back on, and the innings was wrapped up for 113 - a very disappointing target.

After a quick tea, with the bowlers knowing they had little to bowl at, though it was a good chance to work on keeping things tight.

Hillel bowled a hostile opening spell, and Anthony Cowan was unlucky not to have a straightforward chance taken at slip. Hillel took the opener with a lifter that nipped back off the pitch and was feathered through to the keeper.

The other opening batsman was swinging from the hip and doing damage. David Marks came on and had him dropped twice at deep mid-on.

Marks bowled a good spell, picking up a wicket but MAL were leaking easy runs, and Hampstead eased to their target with nearly 18 overs to spare.
