Majestic Morris helps Lions lift the cup

articlemain

A looping header from goal-poacher Mark Morris saw London Maccabi Lions win the Nathan Horwitz MMFL Division 2 Cup following a hard fought 1-0 win over EDRS Stonegrove.

A match of few chances at Barnet FC saw the deadlock broken just before the interval however when Morris was reached a cross from Stuart Coutts' to place a header into the top corner.

EDRS came out in the second half with renewed purpose, but whilst they dominated the possession for periods, they were unable to create any meaningful opportunities against a resolute Lions back line

An emotional Lions' skipper Barnett Horwitz lifted the trophy which bears the name of his late father, Nathan Horwitz, who passed away a week before the match.
