JC MSFL DIVISION FOUR
ATHLETICO FINCHLEY 5 BRIXTON OLD BOYS B 1

A hat-trick from BEN MANDELL inspired Athletico to their second victory in the JC MSFL after they exacted revenge on a Brixton team who had beaten them 8-5 earlier in the season.

From the off, Athletico looked the stronger side with a large percentage of possession and creating many chances.

Chance after chance went begging for Finchley until winger Mandell took the ball from the left side, dribbled around two players and then unleashed a shot from 25 yards which was fumbled into the net by the Brixton keeper. The goal was much deserved after so many missed chances for Athletico. At half-time, Finchley were one goal to the good.

The second half was action-packed with Finchley taking control. Early into the half, Mandell was put through on goal with a defence splitting pass from the impressive Andrew Greenwall Cohen and calmly slotted the ball through the keeper's legs to double Athletico's advantage.

The third goal for Athletico came after a goal kick from Doug Carson cleared the entire Brixton defence and new super signingGreenwall-Cohen ran on to the ball, went round the Brixton keeper and slotted the ball home.

Brixton managed to get one back after Carson made a rare mistake and dropped the ball, allowing the Brixton striker to slot the ball into an empty net.

However, Finchley responded quickly as Mandell knocked the ball away from the Brixton keeper and managed to score from the tightest of angles to get his well deserved hatrick.

Soon after this the Brixton keeper pulled off one of the saves of the season. Greenwall-Cohen drilled the ball towards goal and the keeper parried the ball straight back to him leaving the goal gaping. From inside the box, Greenwall-Cohen struck the ball first time aiming for the corner but the keeper dived across the whole goal to deny him his second goal. An incredible double save that had everyone on the pitch applauding.

With five minutes to go, Finchley got their fifth after Jack Wagner found the bottom corner of the goal with a low and hard shot from inside the box.

Athletico chairman Zach Margolin told JC Sport: "Today we played Brixton off the park. From the off we were creating chance after chance while Brixton never offered much of a threat.

"This game was the first time we had a full squad since we drew with SPEC and it really showed. It could have been 10-1. We are delighted with this result."
